When Kattie first contacted us about photographing some “First Fiesta” birthday portraits of her daughter, Addison, we were so excited. And I was especially excited to gather the props for such an occasion! If you know anything about me you know that I love bargain hunting and I’m very good at it. Between Walmart, Dirt Cheap and Hobby Lobby I found all the props you’ll see below in sweet Addison’s photos.
Kattie and her fiancé, Jordan, live just a few driveways down from Tickfaw State Park, so we decided to have Addison’s session there. This was such a calm and quiet park, perfect for a photo session!
We got there a little early so we could style and arrange the scene. Styling the sessions is one of my favorite things to do. We tested the scene out on ourselves, of course, and decided it was perfect. You can see our silliness in this blog as well.
As you can see below, Addison was a complete angel! She was very happy to show off her big blue eyes and her adorable cactus outfit. Most of the photos of her smiling and looking up are of her looking at her daddy. I think her favorite prop was the basket…or maybe that was just my favorite prop 😉
Despite the heat, Addison stuck it out with no problems, and we got some beautiful photos to commemorate the fiesta that was her first year of life! If you are interested in a first birthday mini session or any other themed mini session, check out our mini sessions page.
