Senior year is supposed to be the time of your life. It might be the last time you see some of your friends before heading off to the real world or off to college. This year, as the class of 2020, you got the short end of the stick. COVID-19 not only did a number on the country, but it messed up an important year for you. You had to rush your goodbyes, commencement ceremonies were postponed or canceled, and you don’t know what the future holds. With all that in mind, it’s easy to write off senior portraits. I mean why would you want to remember all the good things that you weren’t able to be a part of? What’s there to celebrate?
You’re still graduating!
Graduation may have been postponed but you’re still graduating. You still earned every bit of your diploma or degree! That’s something to celebrate! You put in the work and it paid off, just a little bit differently than you expected.
You’re not alone!
Whether you’re graduating high school or college, the entire class of 2020 is in the same boat you’re in. They’re all bummed out and confused. So use this time to embrace a sense of community. We under a stay-at-home order but don’t withdraw from your friends just because you can’t see them. Use technology to your advantage and make sure you fill your friendship tank!
It’s fun!
After being stuck at home for what feels like a lifetime, you deserve a little fun! And believe it or not, senior portraits are fun. It’s an opportunity to get all dressed up and express yourself! We also recommend bringing a friend or family member which makes things even more exciting!
