What is client management software?

 Client management software (CMS) is software that helps you keep track of your clients and stay organized. The more organized you are, the more profitable you can be! This is extremely helpful when you run a creative business, because you likely have a lot of clients. For example, at Three Twenty Studio, we do commercial work, weddings, bridals, engagements, family portraits, and so much more. To keep track of that manually would be extremely difficult, so Dubsado is what we use to make that easier. 

Why is a CMS important? 

Not only does a CMS help you stay organized, but it gives you a more holistic view of what’s going on in your business. It helps you plan for growth and expand in a way that is sustainable. 

Why do we use Dubsado?

There’s a lot of different software out there that can get the job done. Do your research and figure out which one works best for you! We landed on Dubsado for a few different reasons, but the biggest reason is going to be their forever free trial. This allows you to have up to three clients in your system without paying for anything. So you have the opportunity to see what a client journey looks like from beginning to end. We really liked this because it was a no pressure commitment! It gave us the chance to really get into the software and see if we would like it enough to use it any further. 

Another great benefit is that it allows us to track expenses, create invoices, and get paid with their Stripe and Square integration. This is extremely helpful because we can do everything we need to do pretty much in one place. 

Dubsado also allows us to create forms and send them to our clients. This helps us get information for the bride’s day-of timeline or send off stationery to be approved for printing. 

Another great feature is that they have contracts built in. This is very helpful whenever you’re getting started. We actually used their contracts up until 2020, when COVID hit. Eventually we made the choice to make sure our contracts were airtight and that we understood them. So we hired a lawyer to rewrite our contracts for photo and video. From there we would know exactly what was going on and know that they were future-proof. We also went ahead and handled things like covid and any other pandemic related issues. 

So, yeah… We plugged dubsado a lot in this post, but that’s because we really like their software and what it does for our business! Ultimately, you just need something that works for you and the sooner you get it implemented in your business, the better.
