We’ve talked to a lot of brides at Three Twenty Studio and one question we get often is “do I need a wedding film?” You might be asking yourself, “what’s the point of a five to seven minute film if my wedding was eight hours long?” We think there’s plenty of reasons you might want to get a wedding film! So today, we’re going to talk to you a little bit about that!
As the bride, groom, or family, you’re probably not going to have the opportunity to see everything that’s going on. You may even forget some things that you were around for. Getting a film lets you see things that you may have forgotten or things that you missed.
Another great reason to get a wedding film is to share that experience with those that couldn’t make it. This is a great way for them to experience your wedding without actually having been there! They’ll get to see all the best moments that were captured at your wedding.
One of our favorite reasons is that it gives you something that you and your fiancé can look back on. Consider watching it every year on your anniversary to relive those amazing moments together!
So your wedding day is going to last almost twelve hours, so why a five to seven minute film? We get this a lot and we’d love to answer that question!
The first reason we structure our films this way is because longer films take longer to edit. Because of this, our prices would have to increase due to longer work times. We also know that you want your film and we don’t want to keep you waiting! The shorter time also allows us to get your film to you as quickly as we can.
Another reason is because every year you’re going to want to look back on this. And we want to make something that you’re going to want to look back on! In our experience, it’s much easier to sit down and watch a five to seven minute film than something a few hours long. Most likely, you won’t be bingeing your wedding all day on a Saturday whenever you are celebrating your anniversary. Having a smaller film or even just a highlight film makes reliving that moment a whole lot easier!
If you’re still on the fence, ask around! See what your friends and family think. Ask people who you know that’s already married to see if they got a wedding film. Are they glad they did or do they wish they would’ve spent that money elsewhere. However, keep in mind, this is you and your fiancé’s wedding, so take what others say with a grain of salt!
