This blog post is inspired by and made possible by our lovely friend, Kayla Eddlestone! For her wedding, she wanted fresh flowers for her bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets, but she didn’t want to have to budget hundreds (or sometimes even thousands) of dollars to do so. And like I said in my speech at her celebratory dinner, Kayla knows what she wants, and she goes after it.
In this case, she wanted white roses, baby’s breath eucalyptus, and other greenery. She placed an order through Sam’s Club ahead of time, and they arrived two days before the wedding. The day before the wedding is when me, Kayla, and our other best friend, Megan, put all of the bouquets together.
Kayla was slightly stressed because she thought putting together the bouquets would take a very long time, but she forgot how awesomely creative and efficient her best friends were *hair flip*.
We needed to make 8 bridesmaid bouquets, 1 maid of honor bouquet, 1 bridal bouquet, and a toss bouquet. Here’s a list of the items we used during this process:
For the bridesmaids bouquets, we used baby’s breath, three roses, and assorted greenery. For the maid of honor bouquet, we did the same combination but added more of it so it would be slightly larger. Kayla’s bridal bouquet was comprised mostly of eucalyptus and roses, and the toss bouquet was just a small bunch of baby’s breath. We gathered and arranged the flowers and greenery together, and when we were satisfied, we held them together with the floral wire and floral tape wrapped around the stems. We kept each bouquet in its own vase with a little bit of water in it. The morning of the wedding, we wrapped them with the ribbon and secured them with two pins each.
As you can see in the pictures, they came out beautifully! They were just as Kayla imagined they would be. And guess what?! We only used half of the flowers and greenery she ordered. She spent about $200 on her order, so really, it only took about $100 worth of flowers and greenery to make everything we made. It also took us under two hours to make them all. This was a Pinterest win if I’ve ever seen one!
