My Creative Resources
It’s a great idea to have a list of creative resources that you can turn to when you need photos, vectors, music, and all kinds of other things. In this blog I’ll go over a few resources I like to turn to when I need some design resources.
Stock photos come in handy for all sorts of jobs. I often use them for websites and brochures. A lot of times it’s easier to use stock photos rather than having to rely on content from your client. Below are some great creative resources you can utilize. Some are free, and some are paid!
If I don’t want to draw something from scratch or can’t, I’ll download a vector resource and manipulate it until it’s just how I want it.
Mock Up Resources
Mock ups are a great way to give clients an idea of what their end product will look like. For example, if you’re working on door hangs, you know there’s going to be a big hole at the top. You’ve spaced things out accordingly, but sometimes it’s hard for your client to really picture and comprehend that. This is where mock ups become invaluable. You can show them the exported proof as you normally would, but accompanying it with a mock up is icing on the cake!
By no means is this all of the resources out there, but these are my go-tos and might be a good start for you. I use these websites all the time and absolutely love them. I use them for client work, pro bono projects, and personal projects. One important thing to remember: if you plan on using something for client work, make sure you have the right license to do so. The last thing you want is to get into legal trouble. I hope this list has helped you, and if you have any questions or want to share your favorite resources, reach out to us!
