Do you need a wedding planner or day-of coordinator?
Wedding planners are great but a lot of people have a hard time hiring them. And when you’re planning on a budget, it’s even harder. I know when Danielle and I got married it was one of the things we struggled with. If we didn’t hire one, we risked things not going as planned or being on time, and if we did, well we just spent that much more money. Below I highlight three reasons you might want to consider working with a wedding planner or day-of coordinator.
Help you budget and work with other vendors
Working with a budget and finding other vendors can be extremely stressful, but if you work with a wedding planner early on they can give you a recommendation for just about every vendor you need from the dress to photographers to flowers and everything in between. From their experience, they know who’s good to work with and who isn’t so you don’t have to. And since they’re experienced they can tell you how to save money and where to save money, which can add up to big savings.
Carry out your vision
Planners and day-of coordinators will fight to keep your vision alive. Planners can work with you every step of the way to ensure you have your dream wedding. A lot of vendors, specifically venues, tackle multiple weddings a weekend but your planner or coordinator is dedicated to you and your vision.
Keep your day stress free
One of the best things that wedding planners do is keep your big day stress-free. You usually don't have to worry about anything, and if something comes up they are on it. This is one of the biggest reasons you probably should be working with a wedding planner. The last thing you want to do is be stressed out even more when your cake arrives late, or you can’t find one of your wedding party members. Now granted there are things that are going to come up that are out of their control and yours, but for the most part, they keep the show running smoothly.
Looking back I think deciding to work with a day-of coordinator was one of the best decisions we made. She made sure everything went mostly according to plan, notified us when it was time for cake, when our photographer was about to leave, and got everything situation which allowed us to enjoy the moment.
